Deciphering<\/h2>\n

There are several systems of diamond certification in the world. In our country, TU 117-4.2009-2002 is accepted. To evaluate a stone, jewelers use a special table. Stones weighing up to 0.29 carats have 7 grades of color and 9 grades of clarity, while stones weighing from 0.3 carats have 17 grades of color and 13 grades of clarity. There is also a difference in the grading of stones with 17, 33 and 57 facets. But below we will consider only round brilliant-cut diamonds with 57 facets, since such stones are the most common.<\/p>\n

Stones up to 0.29 carats<\/h3>\n

Thus, when it comes to a 57 facet diamond (the most popular cut type) weighing up to 0.29 carats, the color and clarity of which correspond to the parameters 3\/3, it means that:<\/p>\n

• the diamond has a slight color tint, imperceptible to the naked eye;<\/li>\n
• in terms of clarity, the stone has very small inclusions discernible only through a microscope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Diamonds over 0.3 carats<\/h3>\n

  For stones weighing 0.3 carats or more, a 3\/3 (color – 3, clarity – 3) means that:<\/p>\n

  • the diamond is practically colorless, with a barely perceptible tint;<\/li>\n
  • the gem has minor defects in the middle or peripheral zones, visible only under a microscope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    GIA values<\/h2>\n

    GIA is an international diamond certification system developed by the Gemological Institute of America. Its certificates are recognized worldwide. A diamond with color 3 and clarity 3 according to the Russian TU system corresponds to the following classes in the GIA system.<\/p>\n

    Stones up to 0.29 carats and characteristics 3\/3<\/h3>\n

    Have color G, H or I, which means a white stone without tint, and purity VVS1 or VVS2 (Very Very Slightly Included) in the GIA system. This clarity means that inclusions can only be seen through a microscope.<\/p>\n

    Diamonds over 0.3 carats and 3\/3 characteristics<\/h3>\n

    In terms of color, they correspond to GIA grades E or F, which means colorless stones, and VVS1 or VVS2 (Very Very Slightly Included).<\/p>\n
